Kuuluisan Playboy-lehden perustajan Hugh Hefnerin vaiherikkaasta elämästä on tehty televisiosarja, jonka päärooleissa nähdään Netflixin Narcos-hittisarjasta tuttu Matt Whelan ja australialaiskaunotar Jade Albany.

Matt näyttelee American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story -sarjassa itse Hugh Hefneriä, kun Jade puolestaan hänen rakastajaansa Janet Pilgrimiä.

 

Had the pleasure of playing Miss Janet Pilgrim in the new Doco Drama TV Series #americanplayboy @amazonvideo Born Charlaine Edith Karalus. Pilgrim was working in the subscription department for "Playboy" magazine when editor/publisher Hugh Hefner asked her to pose for a pictorial. Hefner choose the alias Janet Pilgrim as a spoof on puritanism. Moreover, Pilgrim's "girl next door" quality set the tone for future Playmates. Janet was the Playmate of the Month in the June, 1955 issue of "Playboy." She went on to become the Playmate of the Month in the December, 1955 and October, 1956 issues of "Playboy." Pilgrim holds the distinction of being one out of two Playmates of the Month to be a three-time centerfold in the magazine. Janet Pilgrim was listed at #83 in the 1999 "Playboy" newsstand special "Sex Stars of the Century."

Viime viikolla menehtynyt Janet oli amerikkalaismalli, joka työskenteli 50-luvulla Playboyn toimistolla. Ovet avautuivat myös Playboy-mallin uralle ja hän poseerasi kuukauden Playmatena heinäkuussa ja joulukuussa 1955 sekä lokakuussa 1956.
